A rare early Victorian novelty silver sliding Propelling Pencil, made in the form of a Trumpet, with engine turned barrel and shaped slider button, the flared screw-off terminal set with a citrine seal stone, and concealing a lead reservoir complete with spare leads. The barrel stamped: 'TF', for a Trumpet / Flugel mouthpiece.
The terminal engraved with a diamond registration mark for January 30th 1844.
The nozzle engraved 'H', for a 0.9mm hard lead.
