An extremely rare Victorian novelty silver Propelling Pencil made in the form of an Axe, with sliding pin mechanism to extend the pencil. The blade of the axe engraved "For Ax'ing Questions".

The handle also stamped with a diamond registration mark for 27th September 1880.
