A fine quality Victorian 10 carat gold combination Pen and Pencil, with a very unusual twist mechanism to propel and repel the pen and pencil. The tubular barrel with spiral twist decoration and formed in two equal parts with a screw off end cap engraved with a crest depicting a unicorn within a ducal coronet.
When the top half of the barrel is turned clockwise the pen holder is extended and the pencil retracted. When the top half of the barrel is turned anti-clockwise the pen holder is retracted and the pencil extended.
