A rare and fine quality Victorian silver Butt Marker of a patented design, the rounded rectangular case of purse form with clasp closure and attached suspension ring, the gilded interior with ingenious multi-barrelled hinge with eight pockets opening to produce the 8 numbered silver pegs in a cascading fan pattern when the case is opened. The face engraved with a crest of a unicorn's head issuing out of a Ducal Coronet.
