A very rare Victorian silver Stamp Case of oblong form with rounded ends, the inner compartment sliding sideways out of the outer sleeve.
Engraved with diamond registration mark for 28/1/1880. This is the earliest known registered design for a silver stamp case. See ""Les Boites a Timbres"" (Stamp Boxes) by Brian Beet, fig B1, pages 20 & 21.
