An extremely rare Victorian English hallmarked silver Stamp Case made in the form of an envelope with an engraved address (Mr Walsh of Painswick, Glos) and an enamelled penny lilac stamp and post mark dated Dec 25th 1891. With hinged opening mechanism and attached suspension loop.

These envelope type Stamp Cases with engraved addresses and enamelled stamps and post marks were usually American made and it is unusual to find an English hallmarked example. This case dated 1891 is also the earliest recorded ""envelope type"" English stamp case.
