A very rare George II Provincial silver Wine Label of plain escutcheon form, incised for PORT. Exhibiting the typical Newcastle feature with the horns closed to form circles (Rt hand horn, not cut out. Lt hand horn almost solid).
Makers mark only IC in script with two dots between, ring above: for Issac Cookson of Newcastle, c1738-39. (Third mark)
In good condition with no damage or repair (slight wear to surface).
