Late 19th Century Comical French Silver Vesta Case

A late 19th / early 20th century French silver Vesta Case, of shaped rectangular form with sprung hinged lid and a striker to the front, the base and the lid engraved with risque comical scenes with the legends; 'J'te parie qu'elle a des bas roses' ( I bet you she has pink stockings) and 'Et on dit que l'agriculture manque de bras' (and it is said that agriculture lacks hands). Engraved on the sides - ‘Cie Gle Des Allemettes Chimiques', '66 Chaussee D’Anton' and 'Paris.’ Silver gilt interior.
