A George V silver mounted ivory Propelling Pencil. The "Centennial" ever pointed pencil was made by Mordan's to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the granting of the first patent for a Propelling Pencil to John Isaac Hawkins and Sampson Mordan in December 1822. In May 1922 the company was granted letters patent No: 179005 for 'improvements in pencil holders and cases'.
