A rare George IV silver Sauce Label of cut-cornered rectangular form with double reeded border, incised for Coratch.

CORATCH, an alternative spelling for CORRACHI, was an Indian Sauce supposedly coming from Karachi in India. A Victorian recipe suggested taking two shallots, a sliced clove of garlic, an ounce of chilies, a wine glassful of soy and a wine glassful of walnut liquor, put into a pint of vinegar; infuse for three weeks; and then filter for use.
