A rare George IV silver gilt Vinaigrette die-stamped on the cover and base in the form of a Crown. Probably made to celebrate the Coronation of King George IV in 1820. The protruding thumb pieces on both parts formed as the Maltese Cross ornament on the Sovereign's orb. Attached suspension ring and scroll pierced grille
