An extremely rare George III Armorial Silver Wine Label, cut-out in the form of a crest depicting an Owl Displayed, standing on a Chapeau, above a scrolled nameplate incised for Sherry.
By Peter & Jonathan Bateman, London 1790.
Jonathan (Hester’s third son) entered his mark in partnership with his brother Peter on 7th December 1790. He died on 19th April 1791, so the partnership was in existence for less than six months.
