A fine and rare Edwardian parcel gilt silver and enamel Menu Holder formed from Naval Signal Flags mounted on crossed anchors and set on a circular pedestal base. The coloured signal flags depicting the famous message given by Admiral Lord Nelson just prior to the Battle of Trafalgar on 21st October 1805 : ""ENGLAND EXPECTS THAT EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY"". The bases engraved with the same legend in text.
By Levi & Salaman, Birmingham, 1905. Also stamped with design registration number 46859.
