An extremely rare Victorian silver ‘Castle Top’ Card Case of shaped rectangular form with hinged flip-top lid and chased and embossed foliate scroll decoration on a matt background, the front with superbly detailed raised and chased scene depicting OSBORNE HOUSE in high relief. Vacant rococo scroll cartouche to reverse. Osborne House in the Isle of Wight was the rural retreat of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, designed by Prince Albert himself and built between 1845 & 1851.
