An extremely fine and rare Victorian silver ""Castle Top"" Card Case, chased and embossed with the Royal visit to St Michael's Mount in Cornwall in 1846. The case depicts St Michael's Mount to the left with numerous small boats in the foreground and the four Royal Yachts; The Victoria & Albert, The Fairy, The Garland and The Black Eagle in the background. The scene surrounded by foliate scroll decoration on a matt background to the back and the front. A vacant cartouche to the reverse.
By 'B&S', probably for George Bower & Son of Birmingham, and possibly over-stamping the mark of Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham, 1846.
